Indianpolis Cancer Center expanding

In mid-June, site preparations began for the expansion of the Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital—Indianapolis, a $34 million, 60,000 square foot addition that will quadruple its current size. The newly expanded Cancer Center will provide patients and their families a more convenient, integrated and enhanced cancer facility as St. Francis continues “building your healthcare future.”

The expansion will include:

  • an expanded breast center,
  • medical offices for breast and gynecological oncology surgeons,
  • increased medical office space for medical oncology/hematology,
  • outpatient bone marrow transplant clinic and supporting laboratories,
  • larger and improved medical infusion center,
  • installation of advanced PET/CT imaging technology,
  • an on-site location for the cancer research department,
  • meditation chapel/spiritual room,
  • patient resource center,
  • an appearance center where patients can purchase wigs and prostheses, and
  • a conference center for accommodating support groups and educational sessions.
